Labor and delivery has come along way since that silent night. I am not quite sure if I can even think of labor as being silent let alone calm during my pregnancy. I didn't arrive by camel or donkey to a barn to bear my child. I was driven to a hospital in a comfortable, air conditioned, leather seated car. I didn't have to sleep in a stable. I had all the luxuries of a suite. I prayed for an epidural to ease my pain.
God allowed the Savior of the world to enter this world in one of the most humbly and lowly way.
Bouncing in his mothers belly as she took that harsh journey to Bethlehem only to be born in one of the most unsanitary, dirty, dusty places. Yet there the baby Jesus lay. He was indeed the long awaited Messiah. Come to save us from our sins. The Wise men who followed the star new who he was and the brought gifts to him. Today as we await his return we joyfully remember that first Christmas and celebrate our Savior's birth with hope and anticipation of Jesus glorious return!
Oh what a Christmas to Remember! Merry Christmas!
